NISformance 6 speed swap for the 7th Generation Nissan Maxima We created this swap with the purpose of adding excitement and performance into the Nissan '4DSC'. This swap replaces the factory CVT in favor of a 6 speed manual transmission while retaining the factory look, feel and reliability. 6 speed manual transmission: pushing in clutch became rough, thought it needed a clutch. Not so, found out that there is a transmission industry-wide known design flaw in the Nissan six speed manual transmission; three little brass rings between gears #3 & #4.
